Chalkboard Art DIY

As most of you know I love Chalkboards and I love drawing on them.  I wanted to share with you how I do my chalk art. There are some people that have amazing handwriting and don't need to resort to tips and tricks but I have always had horrible handwriting so this has helped me out a lot and makes my chalkboards into an art piece. 

The first thing you want to do is print out the quote or word you want. I don't mirror anything I just print it normal since figuring out how to mirror the word is a nightmare (I am not computer smart) and not mirroring it comes in handy.

 Sharpen your chalk. Yes you can actually sharpen chalk. I always assumed it would break or not sharpen properly but it actually comes out looking awesome and makes doing chalk art way easier.

Now take your print and flip it over and trace your word. You might think I'm crazy.. but it is pretty easy to see since the ink is pretty dark. So you can actually see the lines from the other side...if that is still too hard for you then you can put it up against a window so you can see where to trace.

This is where not mirroring your word comes in handy. Since you traced it with chalk on the back side. When you go to place it where you want the word to go you can actually see how its going to look. When you mirror it you have to guess since you can't see the writing and you would be starring at a blank page.

Once you have it where you want it you rub your paper onto the chalkboard so it can leave a stamp.

When you remove the paper it should look like this. A faint stamp. 

The harder and more you trace the darker the stamp will look.

 

Then you take your sharpened chalk, trace your stamp and fill in your word. 

Tada!!! Once you finish it should look awesome like this!! 

I know the word Nicely doesn't make sense but it is part of something special I'm doing. Now that I practiced I can finish the project!! Hope this tip helps you!!!
